Your rights at a glance

Where the statutory requirements are met, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You can withdraw a consent at any time with effect for the future. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation; you can object to direct marketing at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority; for case data of church-run care providers, a church data protection supervisory authority may be competent.

How to make a request

Write us an email at datenschutz@pflege-patienten.com or use the contact form with the enquiry ‘Data protection request’. Please state the email address of your portal account so that we can assign your request. Please do not send complete patient records or passwords by ordinary email.

There is no self-service access report in the portal: you receive access to your data under Art. 15 GDPR on request from the operator, within the statutory deadlines. With a portal account you find the same routes after signing in in the help centre under the article ‘Privacy requests (access, deletion, revocation)’. Organisations can additionally download their organisation data in the portal under ‘Settings’ → ‘Data export’.

We answer your request within the statutory time limits. If the time limit is extended in justified cases, we will tell you in good time.

Cases published by an organisation

If an organisation – such as a hospital, a practice or a home care service – publishes a care need, it remains responsible for this case data; Pflege Patienten processes it on its behalf. Please address questions about this data to the organisation that published the case first. If such concerns reach us, we forward them to the controller and support their handling.

Revoking the consent for a case

If the consent for a published case is revoked, the referring organisation reports it directly on the case: ‘Close case’ → ‘Revoke consent / report revocation’. The referral then stops immediately.

A revocation applies to the future; processing that was lawful until then remains unaffected.

Deleting your own account

You can delete your portal account yourself: in the portal via ‘Delete account’ in the user menu. Before you confirm, the page shows what ends with the deletion.

What we do not store in the first place

Cases are published pseudonymised – without the name, address, date of birth or insurance number of the person.

For private individuals we store no street and no house number; a display name is enough as a name.
