For home care services
Refer household help onwards – without handing over the whole care
If you can no longer provide individual services yourself or not via the desired way of financing, you do not have to hand over the whole care. On Pflege Patienten you look for a provider for just that part.
What this is about
A home care service often provides several services for the same person – basic care, medical treatment care and help in the household. If one of them falls away, for example because staff are lacking or the financing changes, the rest of the care does not have to be reorganised.
In the portal you post only the service you are looking for. Posting individual services per case is already possible today.

Example: only part of the care is sought
An invented example of what partial care can look like:
Basic care
In the example, the current home care service continues to provide it.
Medical treatment care
In the example, the current home care service continues to provide it.
Household help
In the example, a provider for this is sought via Pflege Patienten.
How it works
1. Sign in
Sign in to the portal with your location’s account or register free of charge.
2. Post the service
Post only the service you are looking for, for example household help. In the portal the action is called “Post a care need” or “Refer care onwards”.
3. Receive responses
Registered providers whose service area covers the location are informed and can express interest.
4. Agree
A handover only takes place once you and the provider have confirmed it.
What does it cost?
The location subscription costs €99.00 plus VAT per location per month.
It is only needed if your location wants to take over requests from others itself.
Posting a care need is free of charge. Pflege Patienten is free of charge for patients.

The background: plans to reorganise long-term care insurance
Under the draft Long-Term Care Reorganisation Act (PNOG), the relief amount for care levels 2 to 5 is to be replaced from 2027 by a social space budget that only applies to recognised everyday support services. Household help from home care services would then be paid from the benefits-in-kind budget. This is still a draft that may change.
